What this site does with your data, and why

This is a static website with no user accounts. Personal data is processed in the situations listed below and nowhere else.

  • Hosting and server logs. The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time are processed to deliver the page and to keep the service secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The provider may process data in the USA under the EU standard contractual clauses.   • Analytics. The site uses Rybbit, a cookieless analytics service, to count visits and see which sections are read. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier in your browser and does not build a profile of you; IP addresses are not stored in identifiable form. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object at any time by email.
  • Booking a call. The “book a call” buttons open a booking window provided by Cal.com, Inc., USA. The name, email address and any notes you enter there are processed to schedule and hold the call. Cal.com may set technically necessary cookies once you open the booking window and may process data in the USA under the EU standard contractual clauses. Legal basis: steps prior to a contract at your request, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
  • Sending details by form. Where the site offers a form, it is provided by Typeform S.L., Barcelona, Spain. What you enter is processed to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
  • Email. If you write to contact@hanadkubat.com, your message and address are kept as long as needed to handle it and for any resulting contract. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
  • Images. A few example portraits in the page illustrations load from Unsplash’s image servers (Unsplash Inc., Canada/USA). Loading them transmits your IP address to Unsplash. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Fonts are served from this site’s own domain; no request goes to Google Fonts.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie of its own, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers whether you chose the English or the German version so you are not asked again. It holds only the language code, is kept for one year, and is strictly necessary to provide the language you selected, so no consent banner is required for it. Beyond that, the only cookies that can appear are the ones Cal.com sets after you open the booking window, which the booking needs in order to work.

How long data is kept

Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period for security purposes. Booking details are kept for the duration of the enquiry and any resulting engagement. Emails are kept as long as the correspondence is relevant and as required by Austrian record-keeping law for business correspondence, currently seven years for accounting-relevant documents.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any of these, email contact@hanadkubat.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at.
